BasicsFoto, a visual arts based company which focuses on promoting and maintaining the traditional forms of visual art, organised an online photography exhibition, to give a platform outside social media to the photographers, to showcase their art. The exhibition took place in an exclusive virtual gallery, hosted on the official website of BasicsFoto.
The exhibition started on 19 August (World Photography Day) with an inaugural webinar by judges, having 100+ attendees. The exhibition ran for a period of ten days, after a nine day long process of submission, curation and selection. The photographers from all across the globe sent their entries in an open theme based submission criteria, without any fees. Over 550 entries were received out of which the BasicsFoto curators selected the 70 best photographers to exhibit their work. The gallery also featured a voting system for each photo, so as to make the final winners selection a transparent process.
The judges for the event included two eminent faces from Indian photography community, Mr Navin Vatsa and Mr Rajesh Singh. Both of them are multiple award winning and internationally acclaimed photographers. The judges chose the best 3 entries out of 70 as the winners for the event.
The winners received prizes including BasicsFoto branded camera accessories and club membership to encourage their art form even further.

The event was very successful and was received well in the photography community, with people asking for more such events to be held. BasicsFoto aims to organise more such online events to promote the art in a creative manner, giving a platform to deserving artists even in these times when physical presence in the art galleries and workshops isn’t possible.
